To get straight to the point, the Tascam DR-10L is a great option for capturing audio! At the end of the day...IT JUST WORKS! Over the years I've had the opportunity to really test them in the field in many scenarios and they've always done what I've needed. I do think the updated version is very cool with the Bluetooth option, but if you're in a place where you need to save a little money, then don't feel bad about purchasing the first generation.
